The Steam Box

We’re biased because we know the founder, Mel Gill, who was a guest on the Hive Buzz podcast. Mel’s intention behind this box is not only to empower women to own their sexuality in the way that comes naturally to them but to highlight romance writers of color and LGBTQ authors. Don’t snooze and get your box, which will not include a book but also a sex toy!

We heard of this subscription box through the founder of The Steam Box and absolutely loved the concept of supporting indie Black romance authors!

Brown Sugar Box

Brown Sugar Box was founded by Nicole W. Brown back in 2013 wanted to create a space for her daughters, Izzy and Liv to see themselves in not only literature but design pieces as well. Can we just say how each box comes with a beautiful illustration? The Brown Sugar box has options for women, teens, and children!

My Lit Box

Back in 2016, Sanura Williams turned her love for reading into a subscription box when she noticed that writers of color were often overlooked. The motto of My Lit Box is “Color. Conversation. Community.” We’re all for that!

We believe that books have the power to change lives, and quite frankly – the world!
